Supported documents

GTIA MSP Valuation reads three CSV files: a 3-year P&L, a 3-year business tax-return summary and a de-identified client revenue list. This page lists the exact columns and row labels the parser accepts.

Three files, each with its own job.

Each file answers a different question. Where they overlap on revenue, the figures are compared instead of one file being trusted by default.

01

Profit & loss

Three fiscal years

Revenue, costs, owner compensation, interest, depreciation and pre-tax income. The source of reported EBITDA and of one-time expenses.

02

Business tax-return summary

Three fiscal years

Figures from the business return, for example Form 1120-S. A second source for revenue and owner compensation. Personal returns are out of scope.

03

De-identified client revenue list

One row per client

Annual fee, service type, first year and a recurring flag for each client. The source for recurring revenue and client concentration, without names.

Rules for all three files

  • A UTF-8 CSV file with one header row. Every row has as many cells as the header.
  • Amounts are plain numbers in US dollars: no $ sign and no thousands separators, for example 4750000 or 4750000.00. A negative amount starts with a minus sign.
  • Year columns hold four-digit fiscal years. Use the last three, for example 2023,2024,2025.
  • Each file is limited to 1 MiB.

1. Profit & loss

Header: line_item,2023,2024,2025. One row per line item. The first cell is the row label, spelled exactly as below; any other label is rejected, and each label may appear once.

Revenue
Total revenue · Managed services revenue · Project revenue · Hardware and software resale
Costs
Cost of services · Owner compensation · Salaries and wages · Payroll taxes and benefits · Rent · Software and security tools · Certifications and training · Vehicle expense · Meals and entertainment · Travel · Insurance · Office and supplies · Marketing · Office relocation · Legal settlement · Other operating expenses
Reported EBITDA inputs
Depreciation and amortization · Interest expense · Net income (pre-tax)
Rows the normalization reads

Include these five

  • Total revenue
  • Owner compensation
  • Interest expense
  • Depreciation and amortization
  • Net income (pre-tax)
One-time expense rule

Found automatically

An expense row with an amount in the latest year and 0 in both prior years is treated as a one-time expense and added back, with all three cells cited. For example, Office relocation,0,0,10000 adds back $10,000. Owner compensation, interest and depreciation have their own treatment and never count as one-time.

2. Business tax-return summary

Header: line,2023,2024,2025. One row per line, with the first cell spelled exactly as below. The Form row holds the form number in each year column, for example 1120-S; every other row holds amounts. The Gross receipts or sales row is compared with P&L total revenue and the client list.

  • Form
  • Gross receipts or sales
  • Total deductions
  • Ordinary business income
  • Officer compensation (line 7)
  • Salaries and wages (line 8)

3. De-identified client revenue list

Header, exactly: client_id,service_type,first_year,annual_fee,recurring. One row per client. The list carries no client names, email addresses, phone numbers or other identifiers; the code is the only reference to a client.

client_id
A code: C followed by digits, for example C0001. Each code appears once.
service_type
Lowercase letters, digits and underscores, starting with a letter, for example managed_it_services, managed_security, co_managed_it, cloud_and_backup, voip_and_connectivity, project_work, break_fix, hardware_resale.
first_year
The year the client started, as four digits, for example 2019.
annual_fee
Annual revenue from the client, as a plain number.
recurring
yes or no, in lowercase.

Current format availability

“Planned” is not the same as accepted. A hosted release activates a format only after byte validation, security scanning, extraction, provenance, recovery, deletion and deployment tests pass for that exact format.

De-identified sample CSV
Available in the public sample for the three shapes above. The downloadable templates are optional; matching files with other values and years work too. The sample stores no file and creates no assessment.
Private CSV
Available after sign-in, two-step verification and an upload-authority confirmation for the assessment. Files are checked for structure, stored in private quarantine and processed locally for that assessment only. Each file is limited to 1 MiB.
XLSX, PDF, OCR
Planned document adapters. They are not accepted until their own policy and protected test corpus are approved.
Accounting and PSA exports
Direct exports from accounting or PSA tools need their own schema approval. A file name or extension never makes an unknown export supported.

Current owner CSV processing declaration

The processing declaration approves the three CSV shapes, the parser, the size limit, the purpose and the local processor. It contains no customer data. A separate confirmation for each assessment is still required before upload.

Release boundary
The anonymous sample accepts only the de-identified shapes above, uses fixed non-identifying file names and stores nothing. Owner uploads follow a separate, private quarantine and processing path for each assessment.

Confirm authority before uploading

  1. I am authorized to provide the selected records for this private assessment.
  2. I will upload only records for this company in the supported CSV shapes, and I have removed client names, email addresses, Social Security numbers, tax IDs, bank details, and other direct identifiers.
  3. I understand the files are processed only for this assessment under the processing and retention terms shown on this page.

Without this confirmation, document upload remains unavailable.

Before you upload

The private workspace repeats the active policy and asks for upload authority before the file picker opens. Use the public sample only for de-identified test files; use your private assessment for your own records.
